MCTA Scores With Cable Day

Cable Day 2011 was a huge success!

Held on January 11th at the State Capitol, Cable Day continues to be a highlight for everyone who works in the Missouri State Capitol building.

Charter Communications and Mediacom production crews taped public service announcements and Outlook Missouri, with more than 90% participation from our legislators.

The evening’s reception was highlighted by the appearance of Jack Clark, former St. Louis Cardinal great, who signed autographs for more than 3 hours. Kudos go out to Tyler Leach, from Fox Sports Midwest for sponsoring Mr. Clark!

The even proved the perfect time for superb networking and relationship building with many of the freshmen legislators.

MCTA also extends a huge thank you to the Missouri General Assembly members and House and Senate Leadership for providing time for the programs. We also thank the State House Maintenance crew for their help in setting up the taping areas and, of course, the MCTA member cable companies.

We are already looking forward to our 2012 event! Click Here to See Photos from our 2011 Event!

Jill Jensen & Jack Clark at Cable Day

Jill Jensen, who heads the Investigative Team and special report for Kansas City’s NBC Action News, will be at MCTA’s Cable Day at the Capitol on January 11. Jensen will be conducting the “Outlook Missouri” program interviews of all statewide office holders, House and Senate leadership, and major committee chairs.

MCTA also thanks FOX Sports for bringing former St. Louis Cardinal, Jack Clark, to Cable Day at the Capitol. Clark will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with legislators and staff.

Save the Date

Cable Day at the Capitol  will be January 11, 2011, at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The MCTA entourage will meet with legislators in support of the cable television industry.

Please plan to attend this important event.

Charlotte McClure Honored in New York

On October 4, 2010, Charlotte McClure, General Manager of Cable ONE in Joplin, was awarded Cable Fax magazine’s Independent System Executive Of the Year.

Charlotte attended a luncheon at the Grand Hyatt in New York City that featured other winners including Tom Might, CEO of Cable ONE.

This was Charlotte’s first trip to New York and she and her husband Don spent a few extra days sightseeing. While Charlotte enjoyed visiting New York, she says
she prefers living right here in the “Show-Me” State of Missouri.

MCTA congratulates Charlotte on her achievement and we’re glad to welcome you back home!

Golf Tournament Wrap-Up

A total of 164 golfers took to the links at the annual MCTA Bill Mullen Memorial Golf Tournament at Lake Forest Country Club, Lake Saint Louis, on June 12. Twenty-four Missouri cable industry celebrities were on hand, as well.

Rain claimed the day when both the a.m. & p.m. flights were called after completing just one hole each.

The participants then gathered at the club house, where operators, programmers, and vendors networked and forged business and personal relationships. The silent auction and raffle were held, with many purchasing or winning donated premium items such as a Garman GPS, Blackberry phone, baseball and football tickets, superb wines and cigars, and HBO leather jackets, among other things.

A dinner at Bristol’s the evening prior to the golf event offered an opportunity for 42 major sponsors and volunteers to meet and socialize.

Tim Easley, with Inspiration Networks, received special recognition during the dinner/awards ceremony. Easley has been the catalyst in making the golf tournament better each year. He had served on and chaired the golf committee for many years. His unceasing efforts have been instrumental in making the event the success it is today. Hats off and a big thanks to Tim!

Our 2011 Bill Mullen Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 21, 2011…so mark those calendars!

Hats off to Tim Easley

MCTA would like to thank Tim Easley from the Inspiration Networks for his unswerving efforts to make the Bill Mullen Memorial Golf Tournament bigger and better each year.

For many years Easley has served on or chaired the golf tournament committee, and this year he received special recognition during the dinner/awards ceremony.

Without his commitment to excellence and attention to details, the golf tournament would not be the successful annual event it is each year.

Thank you Tim Easley!!
